Welcome!

Hi, this is Dr. Larry Iverson. I want to acknowledge you for taking the time to be here and for gaining information that can absolutely improve your personal and professional lives. You are showing your proactiveness and desire to create a better life for yourself. I congratulate you for taking the time to learn strategies that can enhance the quality of your life.

Dr Maxwell Maltz, the author of Psycho Cybernetics said that it takes about three to six weeks to either break an old habit or to create a new one. What he went on to show is that it takes about 30 days to either add in a new skill set or to break an old one. So when you take in the information from this program, and you reinforce it by reading it, by hearing it, by thinking about it, by talking about it with other people, by perhaps writing something about it and sharing it with others, it makes it go deeper into your unconscious memory bank, which allows you to be able to use it more effectively.

Repetition is the key to any skill. To enhance your life and grow the kind of success you desire takes repetition. Use these PDFs as well as the audios to refresh the concepts. Share them with family, share them with associates, share them with your friends and really make the concepts your own. Listen to them again and again because, once more, repetition is the place where skill begins.

One other thought: every week there is a new blog article posted at our blog site www.DrLarryIverson.com. These are articles created for professional development, increasing motivation, growing your leadership skills, learning to be a more effective partner or customer server, being better at time management, learning to communicate more effectively on and on. All of those various components are truly essential to every single one of us in all areas of our life. So take the time to go to the blog site and read those articles. If you want, you can sign up and they will automatically be delivered to you every week as they are posted. Just sign in and let us know; it’ll be yours.

The Most Beneficial Skill

I have an intriguing question for you. Do you know what the most researched and useful personal and business skill is? There are many areas it could be but, let’s look at some of the facts. University of London researchers, and their associates have spent years studying this question. They looked back through history at writings as far back as 2000 BC on up to modern day. They analyzed books on science, business, romance, art, medicine, politics and psychology. They studied in excess of 10,000 pages of research on what are the most crucial skills for success, plus interviewed over 430,000 people in 52 countries. The conclusion drawn of what skill would be the most useful and beneficial skill and ability any of us could develop, is persuasion.

History backs up this conclusion, that without a doubt, the ability to persuade and get people to follow your lead is the world’s most beneficial skillset that you could know.

Think about it. Do you ever try to talk people into what you want? Do you have children? Would you like them to do what you want, when you want them to do it with a minimum of argument, or disagreement or whining? Do you have a spouse or a significant other that at times you’d like to get them to budge, to go do something without pushback? Has that ever crossed your mind?

Perhaps you have clients or employees or bosses that it would be nice if they went along with what you wanted and understood your position more easily and effectively and could get on board with where you wanted to go. Would that be of benefit to you? Do you live in a neighborhood where people collaborate or maybe you have a neighborhood watch that does things together? Perhaps there is a citizen’s community or a school process that goes on that you are involved in and you have to speak in front of other people and you want them to take action?

What about a clerk at a store where you shop? Do you want them to treat you nicely and if there’s a disagreement, to give deference to you and go along with what you want? Would that be something that might be of benefit?

Really, is there any part of your life where being influential is not important? Absolutely not; influence is essential in so many areas.

During this session today we are going to be talking about the four core ingredients essential to rapidly building your credibility because credibility is one piece of persuasion. If you have no credibility, why would people want to listen to you?

What do you do to build that? We are going to talk about the secrets of promoting buy-in to assist people in making quicker decisions and feeling good about those decisions.

I’m also going to share with you a technique which will quickly and easily trigger feeling up and energized in a matter of minutes. Also, we will be discussing how you can use the nine types of persuasion to stimulate others to feel more connected to you and spur them to take action.

Being persuasive and getting people to go along with you is a learned skillset. Through applying the strategies you can build greater personal and professional effectiveness in all of your relationships. In addition to adding these skills to your toolbox you’ll also be able to recognize when others are using these strategies of persuasion on you. It’s nice to know how to use them yourself; it’s also great to be able to see when someone else is doing that.

These skills are being used daily by business people, radio, television, press, magazines, online and family members, etc. and if you’re unable to recognize when this is happening, you are at a disadvantage. We will explore how to become more persuasive and how to recognize when those skills of persuasion are being used on you.
