Be Here Now – Present

One of the last tips is you need to be present enough to enjoy the journey. You need to be good company to yourself. You need to be okay being alone. You need to be okay with what you’re doing. You need to find balance between planning and doing. You need to find when life is good, enjoy it. You need to find those positive little moments that enrich you and make you feel good about who you are and what you’re doing.

Don’t go look for something better every other moment. Happiness doesn’t come that way, it’s here already. Find the enjoyment in the moment, find the enjoyment in the doing, find the enjoyment in your circumstances where you are right now, no matter what they are.

Enjoy the journey. Enjoy this moment. Your focus makes a difference, so focus on what you will have and what you will do because this is ready for you right here, right now. This is the precious moment.

Find what really pleases and takes care of you at this moment in time. Be present, enjoy the moment, its existence is because you’re here right now, so enjoy it.

Dale Carnegie said, “Take a chance, all life’s a chance. The person who goes the furthest is generally the one who’s willing to do and dare!” Enjoy the moment, get out there, make it happen. Get up and move through it, today is your day, enjoy this moment and all the things you’re going through. Learn from them, find the good inside of them and feel the happiness from the growth and the experience.

Steps to Creating Happiness

I want to give you an exercise and homework to do. These are steps or instructions to being happy:

#1–Figure out what’s really important to you.

For example, do you value a certain kind of job? Certain types of material things? A type of relationship? What do you do with your time – alone, with others? Time to relax, time to be creative, time to read, time to listen to music, or time to have fun? These are a few possibilities. So I want you to first write down some of those things that are important to you.

#2–think about times when you felt happy, when you felt good, when you felt contented.

Where were you? Who were you with? What were you doing? What were you thinking or feeling that made you happy? Was it doing some of those things we just mentioned that you were to write down in number one? What were some of those things going on at those times when you felt happy? Think about them and put them down on paper.

#3–decide to make time to do some things that are important to you and make you feel good. You have to make it a priority in your life, or you’re not going to have it. So think about and pick one of those things. What is it that you’re going to pick? And when are you going to do it? This morning? This afternoon? Tonight? First thing tomorrow? Tomorrow afternoon? When are you going to do it? You have to pick it, make it a priority now. So decide to make more time and when you’re going to – put that down also.
