No one can create the life you want for you. You don’t need anyone’s permission to have a great life either. You can create your own lucky breaks.

So what do you have to do? You choose to have it, design it, and make it happen.

Years ago, a minister friend and I were talking about why some people have better lives mentally, monetarily, sexually, spiritually, socially, in their careers, etc. And he said, “Many are called, but few are chosen.”

I’d heard that biblical phrase many times, but didn’t quite get what he meant by it in this context. So I asked him what he was referring to in the context of abundance on every level, which we were discussing.

He said, “That phrase “Many are called, but few are chosen.” changed my life.”

I replied, “We’ve discussed how you felt called to be a minister. And it is something that is fulfilling for you, and you do a lot of good for others with what you share.”

He paused a moment, and said, “That’s true, but that’s only a small part of the equation of “Many are called, but few are chosen.”

“Let’s look at this in the context of abundance and success. Fulfillment, success, abundance, richness in every area of life are the result of that concept. It’s a deeper level to it than what most see.”

He went on, “Many are called…” means, if you are alive on this planet–you are “called”. Being a sentient being on earth is a calling. If you are here, your calling has happened and you are alive in the midst of it. The next part is the issue though.”

Smiling he said, “…but few are chosen.”

“Who do you think does the choosing? God? The earth? Your parents? Some invisible master from another galaxy? Fortunately none of those are the right answer. You choose you.”

“If you are alive–you’ve been called. But the only person who can chose you for happiness, success, innovation, abundance on every level–is you. You must consciously and unconsciously choose you and then take the actions essential to your ultimate success.”

Wherever you are today, this is what you’ve chosen–so far. If you are at the pinnacle of success, or struggling to just make it, that’s ok. The next moment is a new moment.

You have knowledge and abilities to create a new reality. Take what you have built you to be up to now, and stride into a better tomorrow.

Leave your limitations behind. Take a chance. Look out there and move in the direction you desire. There is so much life for you to live, and success to be achieved. Go for it!
