Renew Through Reflecting

There are times that before moving forward you need to go back.

Go back to your life experiences and recall what you’ve learned. You have a vast toolbox of skills, that often are not used. You had a life lesson, you gained insights, it slipped into the back of your subconscious memory bank. The learning is buried. It’s worth your time to look back and recall the learning.

Go back and remember why you are doing what you are doing. Why have you chosen the career you are now in? Why have you chosen the personal relationships you have? Who did you chose not to be around or with—why? Remember what’s most important to you. Your “Reason Why” is central to your life. Recall it and let it energize you.

Go back within your physiology. Pay attention to the signals your body gives you. Have you ever heard of someone who is having health issues, but they are not aware of it because they ignore all the symptoms the body is giving them? Attend to your body—listen and mentally scan for how you are doing.

Take time to go back and find your calm center. There have been times when you were totally calm, and at peace. Go back and find that center. If you’ve ever experienced that in your life, you can bring it fully back and make it come alive again. There is not a day in your life, that wouldn’t benefit by an infusion of peace and calm.

Go back to the magic of life. Have you ever been enthused or excited? Have you felt passion for something in your life? Go back and feel it again. That energy is still connected to your experience. When you go back and feel it, you bring it back into today. You can transfer this into all you will do, because it’s alive within.

Go back and find what you are grateful for. Remember those people, and moments that you are truly thankful for. Re-energize your attitude of gratitude. Find goodness you’ve experienced. Feel how wonderful it is that you’ve had that experience. Stimulate your “attitude of gratitude” by recalling the many wonderful things you’ve seen, felt, done and have.

Go back and bring back those nuggets of goodness or knowledge, that can absolutely make your today significantly better.
