Your Hearts Desire

When I was in my 20’s I was making decisions about my life and about what I wanted to do. About whether I wanted to go back to school or keep working. And I was just struggling.

One day I met a guy who was a graduate student in psychology. We met at a coffee shop actually and just started talking. I was discussing my dilemma about what I was trying to figure out. He used a metaphor which I would like you to think about right now.

With his hands, made a gesture—a box, that would be about 12 inches by 12 inches by 12 inches square.

He said, “I have this magic box in front of me. And in this magic box is whatever you desire. It’s your heart’s desire in here. The kind of love you want to have. The kind of person you want to be with. The amount of wealth and money you want to have. The health and vitality you desire. Sports skills you want. Whatever you want, it’s all in this magic box. The Formula for Success

The next of the core components is to move through those things that hold us back by using the Formula for Success. The Formula for Success really is just a few little pieces.

The first part of the Formula we already talked about. It’s having a vision, a compelling vision or desired result that you plan and break down into steps.

Next, after you have these steps broken out, you take action on that plan. You look at the first step you need to take and you do something with it. You take action.

Grandmas’ Reaction

In 1977 in Tallahassee Florida, Laura Shultz, who was 63 at the time, was in her house preparing dinner. Just doing what she needed to do. And she heard her grandson screaming out in the garage.

She dropped everything, ran outside, and here was her grandson with his arm pinned under their Buick. This little lady lifted the car by the bumper of the Buick. Lifted it right off her grandson. Later when she was being interviewed she said, “I’ve never lifted more than 50 pounds of dog food in my life.”

Not too much longer after that, Dr. Charles Garfield had read this interview, and decided he wanted to meet Laura. Garfield is the one who wrote the book Peak Performance. He was talking to her and during their discussion, she said she really didn’t like to think about what she called ‘the event’. She kept referring to it as an event.  Read more »

Manage Your Fears

The second thing that prompts procrastination is fear, whether real or imagined.

Unless you’re being chased by a grizzly bear, fear is a projection. It’s a projection either into the past or a projection into the future. The fear projection into the past is that something wrong or something bad is going to catch up with you from your past.

Or you fear there is a trauma coming in the future. Even fear from being chased by a grizzly is a projection that the bear may catch you and if he does he will do you serious harm or even kill you.

So feeling anxious, feeling worried, is very normal. All that means is that your protections in your basic self, are warning you that you need to be conscious. You need to pay attention. You need to be concerned about things. But, there’s a difference between being concerned and being painfully over concerned.  Read more »

Overcoming Resistance and Fear

Another of the core components to achieving rapid success is overcoming resistance to change or overcoming your fears that block you. This does not mean you don’t have fear. It’s just you still keep moving.

Even the thought of fear can sometimes block people. What you have to do is reprogram your mind to eliminate whatever those fears are that are popping up. Just like that client overcoming the panic and anxiety attacks.

When you begin to focus on what you want, and you begin to move through resistance, you begin to build those large axon pathways that can carry you into a better tomorrow. Read more »

Watch Your Focus

People who have attended my programs have heard me say, “Whatever you focus on most, you will draw more of that into your life.” So whatever you’re seeing mostly within your mind, whatever you keep hearing yourself talk about, and whatever you feel most strongly within your body—you will have more of that.

So what he had to do was quit focusing on the panic and anxiety attacks, and focus on health and energy, laughter and goodness, fun with his family.
