Achieving Your Goals–Helping Build Success
To create the success you want, you need to be a partner with all those you encounter. Grow your business reputation, your connection with others, and you can have the success you desire.
A partnership, whether between two individuals or two organizations is an alliance made strong or weak by energy expended and by the rules of engagement. Here are things that make great relationships work.
Think Long-Term–Live in the moment, do what you can right now, but consider the long term impact and goals.
Relationship Focused–In every interaction you are enhancing or diminishing the relationship. Pat attention to what you are doing every moment.
Value Driven–Make sure your values are aligned in important relationships.
Great Communication–This is a bottom line. Be willing to share and listen.
Interdependence–In every relationship there is “me, you and us”. Don’t forget about “us”.
Mutually Gratifying and Enjoyable–Everyone needs to feel good about the relationship or it will die.
Personal Readiness–You don’t know precisely what will happen–be ready and alert.
Clear Milestones–Set goals for any/all relationships that are of value to you.
Conflict Resolution Strategies–There is one guarantee in life, and that is you will have conflict. Have strategies for managing it when it occurs.
Flexible–Count on things changing. When they do you must be able to adapt.
Skilled & Evolving–Use your skills but never stop learning. You must learn in order to keep growing.
Empathetic–Open your perspective and encompass other peoples’ perspectives. They are valid too.
Committed–Know what you stand for and do to make the world a better place. Go for it!
