It’s Not An Accident
To take any aspect of your life up a level—get interested. There is abundance, pleasure, vitality and value in being fully engaged.
When you become enthralled with something, your energy rises. You want to understand it better and you are busy learning about it, or you are taking action toward it.
Do you have a sport or hobby you enjoy? How did that happen? You saw something you thought might be fun or looked interesting. You tried it, and found a bit of satisfaction from it. You then practiced and kept focusing on how to do it better. And your fascination and how to improve, grew skills that you now do quite easily. Your interest grew into skill.
Ever been bored? Boredom, actually, is a mild form of depression. Look at the symptoms—low on energy, listless, negative mental focus, despondent, and so on. There is nothing boring—only boring thinking patterns.
There have been days in your life where you had nothing to do, and you whined about being bored. There have been other days where you had nothing to do, and you thought it was like heaven! The only difference was your thinking pattern.
No matter where you are and what you’re doing, it can be fun or engaging just by a shift in your thinking. Benjamin Franklyn said, “Reality is simply a creation of your mind.” Pay attention to your focus, and send it the direction you want, versus just letting it go where it will.
Life will be just about as stimulating and engaging as you choose to make it.
You are part of a wondrous planet. When you trigger even a small spark of interest, the world becomes much more fun. Your mind will take you to amazing places where you can learn and engage a new possibility. Boost your fascination—your experience becomes totally different.
The saying, “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” is absolutely correct. Do you like every piece of art you’ve ever seen? I’m certain you’ve seen some you thought were horrid.
And even though you didn’t like it, do you think there may be people who just loved it, thought it was unique and fascinating, were touched by what it represented to them? It’s the way you and they each think about it that makes it so.
Instead of griping—get active, shift your focus, take an interest and see what you can learn. There are incredible possibilities of experience. Don’t limit yourself by your old “boring thinking” patterns. Launch your interest and imagination. The world will rapidly begin to look and feel different to you.
