Handle Your Anger

There are six steps to becoming angry.

1. I want my way, or I want something and am not getting it.
2. You/they/it/the situation is stopping/blocking me from getting it.
3. I must have it, or I must have my way!
4. You/they/it/the situation is wrong or bad for not giving me what I want!
5. You deserve to be punished!
6. I’m going to punish you!

If you’ve ever gotten angry, for any reason, you did all six steps.

You can go through the six steps in seconds, minutes, days or longer—and they end with the same result—anger.

The first two only create frustration. You want and aren’t getting it, and something is blocking you. Sounds like real life.

Better Your Best

Congratulations on what you’ve achieved up to this point!

Now it’s time to take it up a level. After you’ve done well—think about what could be done to take it up even another notch. When you succeed, enjoy the moment. Then begin to seek out even greater.

Top yourself. Competition with others is fun and rewarding. But the real competition is in you, with you. If you look at the greatest achievers in every field, their real competition is to keep learning how to do something even better—how to out do themselves.

As great as your achievements have been—they are the past. Those previous accomplishments won’t drive you forward. Only a new goal will.

You have no limits on what you can do. When you become skillful, there are always methods for becoming even more so. Your thinking patterns either act as a trigger to more, or a barrier for less.

If you’ve had even minor success—that can be a springboard into even greater success. Will Rogers said, “Even if you are on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.” Take your success and keep moving.

There are many things you’ve done well so far. Excellent! Now—Better Your Best!

It’s Not An Accident

To take any aspect of your life up a level—get interested. There is abundance, pleasure, vitality and value in being fully engaged.

When you become enthralled with something, your energy rises. You want to understand it better and you are busy learning about it, or you are taking action toward it.

Do you have a sport or hobby you enjoy? How did that happen? You saw something you thought might be fun or looked interesting. You tried it, and found a bit of satisfaction from it. You then practiced and kept focusing on how to do it better. And your fascination and how to improve, grew skills that you now do quite easily. Your interest grew into skill.

Ever been bored? Boredom, actually, is a mild form of depression. Look at the symptoms—low on energy, listless, negative mental focus, despondent, and so on. There is nothing boring—only boring thinking patterns.

Quit Trying, and Take Action

This Scenario comes from Starwars—“The Empire Strikes Back”. The scene is when Luke Skywalker’s spaceship has sunk into the Dagoba Swamp. Yoda told him to mentally levitate it out of the swamp.

Luke says: We’ll never get it out now!

Yoda: So certain are you. Always with you, it cannot be done. Hear you nothing that I say?

Luke: Master, moving stones around is one thing. This is totally different!

Yoda: NO! No different. Only different in your mind! You must unlearn what you have learned.

Luke: Alright. I’ll give it a try.

Yoda: NO! TRY NOT! DO, OR DO NOT! THERE IS NO TRY!

(Luke slightly lifts the space ship out of the swamp using The Force, then gives up and fails.) Read more »

Now Is The Time To Lighten Your Load

I have a magic vase.

With it you can manifest whatever you desire.

What would you be willing to trade me, for this powerful magic?

Would you be willing to trade away your fears, to get what you want? How about your anger—would you trade it away? Maybe your procrastination, your doubts, and your negative thinking?

To have what you want, you need to lighten your load. You can do without these burdens. All those negatives you are carrying around block the magic that is within you.

Set down your anger and resentments. To carry these requires a major expenditure of energy and provides you no value. Read more »

Take Your Life Up A Level

No one can stop you. It feels like it sometimes doesn’t it? The boss is not giving the opportunities. The pay in this job will never be enough. The coach just didn’t do a good job. The product just didn’t perform as expected.

It’s easier to look outside ourselves and point the finger of blame, than it is to look inside and ask, “What can I do differently to get the result I want?”

So long you look outside of yourself, as the source of your difficulty—you’re stuck. It may be true, there are barriers. There may be things you don’t know enough about. It might be that someone has given you faulty information. So figure it out and move on.

Once you break through pointing fingers and seek out new paths, you are free. If your favorite road to travel to work is closed, that’s a shame. But, I’d bet there must be another way to get there. Read more »

There Is No Limit On Abundance

No matter how great the achievement, it’s not the ultimate forever. What it is though, is a marker for what can be done, and a milepost on the way to even greater.

When the four minute mile was first run in 1954 it was amazing. But there are thousands upon thousands who now run it much faster than four minutes. The milestone opened up the human mind to attaining even greater times.

Is there something that you’ve wanted to do or be, but there was someone who did it better than you? That is the human condition. Don’t be distressed or resent them because of that they’ve accomplished. Celebrate them, and look for how you can make your own improvements. Read more »

The Core Ingredient of All Success

You can not have success without this. There is no human being who ever lived that did not have this before they ultimately succeeded.

Many try to avoid it, and go way out of their way to side step the experience. But it is inevitable that this must occur. For without this there is no experience.

Failure is part of every success.

Thomas Edison said, “I failed my way to success.” Failure for most people is embarrassing, fear producing, triggers procrastination, and for many is damaging to their self image. That’s ridiculous—because you cannot have great success without going through failure.

I’ve heard that failure is the opposite of success—it’s not. Failure is just one component of getting from where you are to where you ultimately desire to be. Success blooms from the dirt and ashes of failure. Read more »
