Today Is Your Day

Think about today. How have the things you’ve done gone? Probably a mixture of very well on down to not so hot.

Notice your feelings about your experience—the good, and the bad. These are what make you into you. Give yourself permission to experience them all.

It’s natural to have ups and downs. The real trick is to not get caught up in the ones that make you feel bad, but instead to decide to focus primarily on those that uplift and energize you.

At times you might feel compelled to connect with a certain someone, or situation, or lifestyle, to assist you in feeling how you hope to feel. But that’s a fabrication. Nothing and no one can make you feel anything. You feel the way you do moment to moment, from what you’re focused on at any given time.

So go ahead—right now—and feel the way you hope to—beginning this very second! Grief and sadness come from losing something you value highly. Allow yourself to have your grief, just don’t get stuck in it, or let that be all there is for you.

If someone sabotages you—it’s a natural response to become angry, but don’t let it consume you. Feel all of your feelings, but remember to give the most time and your deepest focus to emotions that support feeling positive and alive.

Focus on feeling love. Focus on experiencing gratitude, happiness, passion, humor—you already know how to do these, do make them your chief focus. Decide to have these and gather them to you. Intentionally choose them.

There will be experiences that knock the wind out of you. That’s life. That difficult experience does not mean stop. It’s just a signal to pay attention, read between the lines, pick your next path of action, and keep on.

It’s wonderful to have others support and encourage you, but don’t rely on them doing so. It’s not really their job (thought those that care most about you will do this with some regularity.)

Encouraging you is your job—not anothers. You must do this for yourself. A compliment or encouragement from another, does nothing for you if you don’t acknowledge the truth of it in your own mind. You must catch you doing something right.

Begin this next second feeling how you want to feel—it truly is your choice. Focus on desire you want and take action to make it happen. Consciously choose what you will do—choose what you want to feel the vast majority of the time.

Begin right now having the feelings you really want to have.

If you feel it’s hard to just prod the positive into existence, then just vividly recall a time when you felt unstoppable, happy, confident or powerful. Make it come back alive here and now. When you vividly re-live the positive. It immediately is re-experienced and becomes a “now” event.

Decide to have positive now! This next moment is a brand new life, no matter what’s happened before—go for it!
