Don’t Give In To Negative

“The hatred we bear our enemies, injures their happiness less than it does our own.”
— John Petit-Senn (1792 – 1870)

Ever have people push your buttons? Do you get frustrated with the way things are going? Are there ever demands made of you that are unreasonable? Welcome to the real world.

When what someone else does triggers you into anger, fear, hatred, worry, sadness, you’ve just given them control over your mind. Now that’s not a pleasant thought!

Think about it—do you really want someone to be controlling you? Then take back your power and manage your mind.

Truly, when we have negativity based emotions, it “…injures their happiness less than it does our own,”

But—what if you are justified in being upset…. So what. Only if that negative emotional state prods you into a positive action (and punching them in the nose doesn’t count as a positive action) should you allow that negativity to remain. Other than that get rid of it as fast as you can.

Modern medicine has substantial proof that negative emotions release hormones and chemicals that wear on the body. In life threatening situations they can save your life. But to fill yourself with them just because you’ve had an interaction with a knucklehead is silly at best.

The University of London research said that you will experience about 20 frustrations per day, 365 days per year. Having frustrations occur is normal. How you manage them is up to your thinking processes.

Take exquisite care of yourself—you deserve it. Stay aware and proactively manage your self-talk and emotions so you thrive. No matter whom you cross paths with, or what frustrations occur, make today a great day!
