How to Improve Whole Brain Functioning
The science of Kinesiology is the study of movement and its relation to the nervous system. Using it appropriately can stimulate greater whole brain functioning.
The “Cross Crawl” exercise works from the idea that when we are born our nervous systems are homolateral–meaning the right brain controls the movement on the left of the body and vice versa.
The cross crawl uses movement principles and rhythm to enhance usage of the whole brain all at once.
From research with babies it’s was discovered that the cross crawl process lights up neural circuits in a whole brain fashion. By the same token, for adults cross crawls are believed to trigger an energizing of brain function by promoting right-left brain communication through the corpus callosum.
