Here’s a story that illustrates that point. Centuries ago there was a farmer who began his chores first thing one morning and discovered his prize stallion had run away. Harvard Edge Experiment

Harvard University took a group of students and had them visualize their ability to do some task they’d never done before. The researchers showed them what it was, had them visualize doing it, and just picturing it in their mind being completed successfully. They then had a different group who went out and performed the actual task.

The group who first visualized it and then did the task, had 95% in accuracy in having completed it. The ones who just did the task had only a 50% ability to complete the task. The accuracy was significantly different.

Being Present

One of the main things that has to happen in that awareness is that we have to focus on now. You’ve heard numerous time cliques. Live in the present. The now is all there is. Be here now. Forget about the past, it’s over. Don’t worry about the future, there’s only today.

While these are familiar to most of us, the truth is that living in the now is in many cases very illusive, because we think about what happened yesterday, and we’re focused on what’s coming at us. We need to find a way to stay in today.

Awareness & Now

Breaking old habit patterns and moving into a new day requires noticing that you’re creating impediments, or you’re creating barriers around you. In many cases, these become excuses or limitations. We have to become conscious, we have to become aware of what we’re doing.

Much of life is run on autopilot. You get up in the morning; you do the exact same routine. You go to the bathroom, you brush your teeth, you get dressed, you put your coffee on, whatever. You have these habits. You do these exact same patterns most of the time. Almost on auto-pilot, sometimes when you’re half asleep.

Time to Manage You

You really have control over three primary things in your life: what you choose to focus on, thoughts you think, and the actions you take or don’t take. For achieving the goals you desire you must focus and change all three.

You must focus your brain in the direction you want, thinking positive winning thoughts. Change your negative thought to a positive one. Change your focus from what you can’t do to what you can do. Take action, learn, grow, experience, and move your body forward in a direction that helps you achieve a desired result.
