Direct This Moment

From the moment you awaken—begin to guide your day. Choose the direction you will move from moment to moment. Take control of now and where you are heading.

If you just drift, you will certainly wind-up somewhere—and you may or may not like it. Focus on the details of your day, and decide where you want to go. Keep your mind moving in the direction you’d most like.

Your gigantic subconscious mind is a random accessing device. If allowed, it will just roam endlessly into all manner of thought fields. Some fun and uplifting, some dark and detrimental. The more you can keep it in the positive, and away from the defeating or negative, the more likely you will experience a rich and fulfilling life.

Excuses Be Gone!

Things get really tough sometimes, don’t they? Unplanned emergencies arise, things break, people don’t follow through like they said they would, money falls short, time runs out, you feel sick—bah humbug….

Did you know that some of the greatest accomplishments of human kind have been done by people who had all sorts of barriers, limitations and illnesses. What they didn’t do, was make excuses.

An excuse really doesn’t help. It’s a way to disown responsibility. And, it may be true that you didn’t break the printer, so it’s not really your fault you couldn’t print out the paper—right? Ever heard of a flash drive and Kinko’s/FedEx?

Instead of choosing to make an excuse—choose to make some progress. Own what happens and any part you may have in the situation. Because when you do, you feel more calm, your brain kicks up a notch to work faster, you begin to experience possibility thinking for options, and your self-esteem and confidence take a boost. All this, is the result of honoring yourself.

Eliminate The Negativity & Take Back Your Power!

The amount of power you are exercising in your life, is directly proportional to your focus at each given moment. And, your focus is always what you choose it to be.

Blow away the negative. Your internal dialogue—that chatty voice in your head—is the central creator of negativity. Between sixty-five and seventy-five percent of all your emotions are the result of what you are thinking, and the mental images you allow inside your mind.

If you focus on all the lousy experiences around you, well guess what—you’ll feel lousy. When you keep thinking about how tough things are and how it’s not going the way you want, your productivity will be off. You will probably feel frustration, anger, despondent and/or discouraged. This is cause and effect—lousy thinking triggers lousy feeling.

Overcoming Inertia

Things are hard at times—are they not? That’s all relative….

The level of difficulty is a perspective. One person may think studying all night to get a good grade on a test is really hard, and to another person, it’s not hard—it just needs to be done.

Action is just action. Whether it’s difficult or not is in the way you look at it, and the self-talk in your head. You are either taking action, or you are not taking action. If you were to interview two people straining with the same amount of force to move a boulder, and asked them how hard it was—much would depend on their attitude.

If one was grumbling, groaning, whining and cursing the boulder and their foul luck at having to move it, they will most likely rate the experience as much harder than will the person who is just going for it.

To excel at your chosen endeavor will require effort. It will take some time. Yet the effort and time you expend are only troublesome when you focus your mind that way. You see—it’s all in your perspective.

It’s Here, Right Now

Guess what… It’s time….

The bell has rung, and the session begun. You are in the race whether you like it or not. The race is the “Dash Through Life”. Isn’t it a trip?

Don’t be overly concerned about how long it will take, or if it seems to be going too fast or too slow. That’s just stuff.

If you get overly preoccupied with what others are thinking of you, or how hard it is, you are just undermining yourself. Sure, some people are able to more easily gain mastery at some things than are others. Oh, well…. That doesn’t mean stop, it just means dig in and do it anyway.

If you want to be a superb musician, do you think practice may help? If you want to improve your golf swing, would having a pro give you coaching be of assistance do you think? Hmmm—just maybe? Get out there and find a model of excellence, and start to apply what’s known to work.
